Leo W. Jenkins Society

Leo W. Jenkins Society

Pride, loyalty, and remarkable perseverance are all qualities Leo W. Jenkins drew upon while chancellor of East Carolina University and qualities he instilled in the university's students, alumni, faculty, and friends.

Just as Leo W. Jenkins honored East Carolina University with his ambitions and success, the Leo W. Jenkins Society honors philanthropic benefactors of the university. Contributors of bequests and other forms of planned gifts join his legacy by investing their spirit and the fruits of their labor in the excellence of East Carolina.

Society Eligibility and Membership

The Leo W. Jenkins Society was established to ensure that the University appropriately recognizes those alumni and friends who have created their own East Carolina legacy through documented planned gifts. Countless scholarships, professorships, research funds and programmatic support have been funded with planned gifts created by those who came before us. And, thanks to you and others like you, ECU will continue to thrive as a leading public university far into the future - benefiting future generations for years to come.

A future gift from your estate to fund your East Carolina Legacy.

Gifts you offer through your estate or beneficiary designation. These can include:

A future gift to fund your East Carolina Legacy and provide income to you now

You make a gift to the University and receive income for your life, for the lives of two or more beneficiaries, or a term of years.

A current gift that helps the University now and your family later

The University benefits from the income from a gift you make for a specified period of time, and then the assets are passed back to you or to your heirs.

Note: Depending on how you intend for your gift to be used, you need to designate it either to one or a combination of our four foundations that support ECU.

Now, more than ever, East Carolina's future depends on the gifts that alumni and friends make today to benefit the University tomorrow.
